Individual research project: Development of clinical endpoints of daily-life activity for low vision patients to assess the effect of visual restoration

Presentation:

I hold a B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering (Bioelectric) from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran, Iran; 2015) and a M.Sc. degree in Bionics Engineering (with specialization in Neural Engineering) from University of Pisa and Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Pisa, Italy; 2019). Through the university courses, I have learnt various topics in Machine learning, Data analysis and Signal processing. Additionally, I spent six months as a research fellow in “E. Piaggio” research center at University of Pisa (May- Oct 2019), where I got the opportunity to extend research and strengthen my skills. As a neuroengineer, I believe that my specialization is not limited to clinical applications or biomedical industry; but it enables me to be a part of different projects from different fields. To me, having the opportunity to be a part of a research network such as the enTRAIN VISION enables me to treat with the real world events and phenomena in an innovative and creative way. In spite of current therapeutic techniques in visual restoration such as surgeries and prosthesis, I still believe that we are in preliminary steps of vision restoration and rehabilitation. Together with other researchers in the enTRAIN VISION, we try to do our best to discover and introduce novel solutions for today’s and future’s needs.
